Aceto Acetoxy Ethyl MethacrylateAAEMA is a special methacrylic ester monomer with a reactive methylene group. It is used as a copolymer for coatings and adhesives in emulsion polymerisation (waterborne dispersions) or solvent polymerisation (high solids).

AAEMA provides improved mechanical and solvent resistance against water or organic solvents e.g. alcohols, which cannot be achieved with standard formulations. In addition it acts as an adhesion promotor to metallic, mineral and wood surfaces. Mainly it is used as a copolymer with acrylates and styrene acrylates in waterborne dispersions for wood-, industrial- and top coatings, fillers, adhesives and sealants.

Ethyl MethacrylateEthyl methacrylate monomer (EMA) is an ester of methacrylic acid. EMA is a clear, colorless, volatile liquid with a characteristic odor, slightly soluble in water and miscible with most organic solvents.

EMA is also used for oil additives as well as in the fields of medicine and dentistry to make prosthetic devices and as a ceramic filler or cement.

EMA is a reactive monomer and can readily be polymerized with itself or with other monomers to form thermoplastic and thermosetting polymers. It's polymers have a wide range of properties and applications. Acrylic polymers can be produced by bulk, solution, emulsion, or suspension polymerization in the form of sheets, films, foams, molding pellets, powders, lattices, and solutions.

Artificial / false nail applications:
EMA is perfectly suitable as an ingredient for artificial /false nails. Previously Methyl Methacrylate was used. MMA in its liquid form has been banned for use in the nail industry due to the severity of allergic reaction and damage to the natural nail plate. It adheres so tightly to the nail plate that it can literally rip the nail plate from the nail bed due to heavy pressure from a blow or trauma to the nail. MMA is so hard that it cannot be safely removed from the nail plate by soaking in any form of remover - it must be filed from the nail plate with a heavy abrasive. EMA can be safely soaked from the nail plate for complete removal. EMA is a 'flexible' monomer.

Itaconic AcidItaconic acid is a white colourless crystalline carboxylic acid obtained by the fermentation of carbohydrates and used in the manufacture of synthetic resins. It occurs in some fermentations of sugars.

Itaconic acid and its polymers can be made into effective deodorant by adding a little natural substance, they can react with alkaline or acidic odor such as ammonium, amine, and hydrogen sulfide. They can also be utilized in paper and plastic thin film with deodoring function. Itaconic acid can copolymerize with styrene and butadiene to prepare SBR latex which is widely used in paper coatings, metal and concrete paint. It is used in paints to improve quality and used as fiber carpet sizing agent to make carpet more endurable. Itaconic acid can react with acrylic and methacrylic acid or their esters to prepare resins which can be widely used in emulsion coating, leather coating, coatings for car, refrigerator and other electrical appliances to improve adhesion, color and weather resistance. They are also used in eletroporetical coating with excellent adhesion, in dental binder with the help of metal oxides. With chloroalkyl dimethyl benzylammonium chloride added, they can be used to prepare water soluble coating for food packaging to reduce bacteria contamination. Esters of itaconic acid can be used in paint, ion-exchange resin, lubricant, binder, plasticizer, sealant and molding plastics.

Methyl Methacrylate MonomerMethyl Methacrylate Monomer (MMA) is an ester of Methacrylic Acid. MMA is a clear, colorless, volatile liquid with a characteristic odor, slightly soluble in water and miscible with most organic solvents.

MMA is also used to impregnate wood and modify polyester resins to improve weather ability, gloss and hardness. MMA is also used for acrylic fibers, oil additives, the impregnation of concrete to make it water-repellent and also has uses in the fields of medicine and dentistry to make prosthetic devices and as a ceramic filler or cement.

MMA is a reactive monomer and can readily be polymerized with itself or with other monomers to form thermoplastic and thermosetting polymers. It's polymers have a wide range of properties and applications. Acrylic polymers can be produced by bulk, solution, emulsion, or suspension polymerization in the form of sheets, films, foams, molding pellets, powders, lattices, and solutions.
MMA is sometimes used in the beauty industry as an ingredient for artificial nails. Experts point out that, for various reasons, MMA is unsuitable for this application and a much better alternative Ethyl Methacrylate (EMA) is available.

Triethyl AmineTriethylamine is commonly employed in organic synthesis as a base, most often in the preparation of esters with acid chlorides. n-MethylpyrrolidoneN-Methyl-2-Pyrrolidone cleans heavy oil and carbon deposits from engine parts. It is an excellent solvent for many coatings, including polyurethanes, printing inks, epoxy resins, polyamidimide-based wire enamels, and water-based coatings. Many plastics, including polystyrene, polyesters, and polyvinyl chloride are soluble in NMP. NMP is also effective for stripping many types of paints. br

NMP is acceptable for use in both immersion and ultrasonic processes. Pure NMP is commonly used, but is also available blended with surfactants or other solvents. It can be combined with a water rinse in semiaqueous processes. br

Many oils become soluble in NMP only when the solvent is above 145'F (63'C). The oils can be separated from the solvent after the cleaning step by lowering the NMP temperature. The solvent can then be reused and the oil can be recycled.
