Health, Environment & Safety

At ECEM we are committed to the continuous improvement of our business in the areas of health, environment and safety. We are determined to conduct our business in a manner that protects the well being of our employees, customers, the general public, and the environment.

As BCDTA members we must conform with all legal regulations and requirements and should we operate in accordance with both government and industry codes of practice and guidance associated with our activities.

We are committed to:

  • ensure that our activities do not present an unacceptable level of risk to employees, contractors, customers, the public or the environment;
  • have written documentation which covers our activities and ensures that our health, safety and environmental policies reflect our commitment to Responsible Care as an integral part of our business strategy;
  • provide relevant health, safety and environmental information on company products and activities to employees, contractors, customers, statutory bodies and the public;
  • ensure that all employees are aware of our commitment and provide the training necessary to enable them to be involved in the achievement of health, safety and environmental objectives;
  • establish and maintain an appropriate emergency response system;
  • share market information with customers and suppliers;
  • support and participate in those activities which will improve the quality of our own operations and strengthen health, safety and environmental consciousness and awareness;
  • maintain an awareness of and respond to local community concerns which relate to our activities.
